Moreng and Hodges win at Total Combat

DEL MAR, Calif. , March 11 — Tijuana ’s own Total Combat made its first sanctioned foray into the

Golden
State with Total Combat 13 “Anarchy” at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Despite a few minor hiccups,
Southern California ’s first mixed martial arts show sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission was an excellent showcase of what an MMA event should be. There were a host of exciting fights, and they only got better as the night progressed.

 

Jesse Moreng and Chris David put on a show for what had to be the fight of the night. For the first two rounds, each fighter had the other in danger by landing heavy blows that seemed only to motivate both to throw more.

It wasn’t until the last round when Moreng was able to use his superior cardio to dominate the third period and win a unanimous decision.

 

And Luke Hodges won his fight over Marcus Dawson at 32 seconds of the second round by way of TKO.
