10th AZGC Results

The 10^th Arizona Grappling Challenge took place in Mesa,AZ on October 6^th. The event was sponsored by SOYO, Rage N’ Glory, XO2 Fight Gear, OTM Fight Shop, Knockout Graphics, Custom T-shirt Warehouse, Alicia photos.com and AZ Combat Sports. The event had competitors coming from California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona.

AZGC had two super fights and one PRO Division called the “SOYO Challenge”, with the cash prize of $1000 for competitors with 200 lbs and under. At the first super fight, Robson Moura (Nova Uniao) defeated Sim Go (Cobra Kai) by points (9×0). At the second super fight, Steve Rosenberg (Gustavo Dantas BJJ/AZCS) defeated Rodrigo Ranieri (BRASA) by decision (2×2). And finally at the “SOYO Challenge”, two teammates, Jacob McClintock and Jesse Forbes (both from Gustavo Dantas BJJ/AZCS) went to the final and shared the cash prize. McClintock submitted Greg Gifford (American Pankration) in 15 seconds and Jason Selva (New Breed) in 5 min., while Forbes defeated Brad Petterson (Megaton) and Tim Bond (Street Sports) by points. Jesse Forbes is sponsored by MTX Audio.

The winner of the 32” SOYO LCD TV was Steve Heilman (Gustavo Dantas BJJ/AZCS), who won the light/master/under 1-year division.

At the Kids division, Jacob Swift (Team Swift) won the award of the fastest submission (7 seconds), and at the Adult division, Chris Holdsworth (Cobra Kai) won the fastest submission with 14 seconds.
