1st AZ BJJ Kids Cup Results

The 1^st Arizona Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Cup took place at the Broadway Recreation Center in Mesa, Arizona on April 25^th. The event promoted by GD Jiu-Jitsu Events, in association with AZ State BJJ Federation, was sponsored by Forever Fighter, Custom T-Shirt Warehouse, OTM Fight Shop, Gracie Magazine Association and Arizona Combat Sports. The event was dedicated to competitors between ages of 4 and 17 yrs old and was a great success with its debut at 163 competitors.

For the first time, GD JIU-JITSU Events promoted a food drive for the United Food Bank. This organization provides food to around 800.000 people in need per year. From now on, GD JIU-JITSU Events will be promoting Food Drives for the United Food Bank at every event.

The event brought competitors from Colorado, New Mexico, California, and Arizona, representing 26 different schools. Here is our Team’s results:

Vincent Maldonado – 3rd place (Light feather/white/pre teen)

Jacob Garcia – 2nd place (Light/Yellow/pre teen)

Andy Thornhill – 2nd place (Feather/White/Juvenile)

Our next event will be the Arizona Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu State Championship 2009, which will take place at the Westwood High School in Mesa, on July 11^th and 12^th. Full info available at www.gdjiujitsu.com .
